The Greater Augusta HBCU Alumni Alliance is a non-profit local organization comprised of graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). Each member represents a local HBCU alumni chapter. Our mission/goal is to assist high school juniors and seniors in making career decisions and choices about college. At the same time making them aware of opportunities offered at HBCUs.
The HBCU Alliance provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors planning to attend an HBCU. Over $70,000 in scholarships have been awarded since we organized in 2013.
We are actively involved in the community.
- We sponsor a 5K fun run and health fair each year.
- We sponsor an annual HBCU college fair and participate in local college fairs at area schools and churches.
- We provide school supplies to youth in grade and middle school.
- We also provide food baskets to needy families during the Christmas holidays.
To become a member of the Greater Augusta HBCU Alumni Alliance, there is a one-time joining fee of $250 per HBCU alumni chapter. The joining fees are applied to operating costs and seed money for a scholarship fundraiser sponsored during the year. Download the HBCU Chapter Information Sheet at the bottom of the page to sign up for membership.
Presently we meet via "Zoom" because of COVID concerns.
The Greater Augusta HBCU Alumni Alliance is tax-exempt under IRC Section 501 (c) (3)
